USE THE NAME OF THE PERSON IN MESSAGES YOU SEND THEM

When communicating with a friend through text messages, or Facebook messaging, or any other type of messaging; a good tip is to include their name every now and again in the messages. It makes the message appear more personal.

For example, if you have a friend named Courtney who sends you a message saying: “Do you want to get some ice-cream this afternoon?”

Rather than replying with “That is a great idea, I would like to,” you could instead say “That is a great idea Courtney, I would like to.”

Which sounds better?

To me, the second version where you include Courtney’s name, sounds better as it makes the message feel a little more personal and warmer to Courtney.

Using the other person’s name in every message you send them might be going a little too far with it, but using it every now and again can make the messages appear less generic, and make the recipient of the message feel warmer and closer to you.
