Do not worry what others think of you. The coolest people in my high school were the people who did not care what others thought of them.

For any of you who follow me and read my writings and you are in high school right now, I just want to tell you, don’t worry what other people think of you. The coolest people in my high school were the people who did not care what others thought of them. So if you want to be cool, don’t worry what others think about you.

I know what it’s like to be in high school. It is all about impressing the people around us. You are at that age where you are young, you are new to the world, and you may feel like the people in your high school are the only people in the whole world.

You are losing sight of the fact that there are more than 7 billion people in the world! And what a hundred, or a thousand people think of you, is not a big deal.

World
There are more than 7 billion people in the world! Who cares what a few people think of you.

And in reality, people are not thinking about us as much as we may think they do.

People have their own problems, and ambitions, and other stuff they think about. Most people do not spend all their time thinking about the time you embarrassed yourself in front of them. Most people are busy thinking about their own stuff because they have their own lives that keep them busy.

If there is someone who does spend all their time thinking about the embarrassing moments in your life, I would question and ask you is their opinion really that important? If someone’s life is so empty and miserable, that all they can do is keep thinking about the embarrassing moments you have had, and they keep reminding you of it, I would ask you why would you care what someone like that thinks of you?

Don’t waste your time worrying about what losers think of you.

Losers are people who spend all their time judging others negatively and trying to make others feel bad about themselves.

Your mental energy and thoughts, are too valuable and precious to be wasted on thinking about losers or caring what they think of you.

Normal people do not spend all their time thinking about the stupid things you did.

Sometimes in high school, it may seem like all people around you do is judge you, because for some people in high school, gossip seems to be valuable currency. Gossip is often traded throughout high school.

But what you will notice about gossip, is that it changes. The people being gossiped about, and what is gossiped, changes from week to week. It does not last.

Gossiping
“Can you believe Sophie wore that?” Gossiping during lunch break. There is always a new story to gossip about.

People will not permanently judge you for what is said about you. And even if they do, in a world with more than 7 billion people, do you really care what a few people think of you?

In high school, it may feel like you will be spending time with the people around you for the rest of your life. This is not true.

You will meet other people as you go through life. There is so much ahead of you, and so many amazing people you will meet in the future when you finish high school. High school is just a phase. Looking back on high school, you will realise what a small period in your life it was.

Right now though, when you are in high school, it may not feel that way.

You have to be realistic and look at reality. And reality dictates that you will meet new people when you finish high school. Your life will go on and will get better, regardless of what the people in high school think of you.

But while you are there now, you may not see this.

And I am here to tell you that this small period of your life called high school, will be over, and you will look back on it in a few years, and wonder why did you spend so much time worrying what the people around you thought of you.

So while you are in high school, you should not worry about what others think of you. Because if you do waste time and your precious mental energy and thoughts on worrying about what others think of you, then you will regret it in the future when you look back on it. You will wonder why you didn’t spend all that mental energy doing something better, or doing something that made you happy.

The coolest people in my high school were the people who did not worry what others thought of them. This is what made them cool. They were not trying to be cool. Some of them did not even realise they were cool. But it was the fact they were happy with themselves and accepted themselves for who they are, regardless of what others thought of them, that made them cool.

Other opinion means nothing
Not worrying what others think of you is what makes you cool.

They realised that other people’s opinion of them is not important. If other people laughed at them or made fun of them, they were unaffected by it. This had the interesting effect of deterring people who made fun of them as they did not get a reaction from them.

When some people see they can get a reaction from you or you are affected by what they say, it encourages them to keep repeating that behaviour. On the other hand, when you are unaffected by it, they become less likely to do it again in the future.

By not worrying what others think of you, it makes you automatically become unaffected by what other people say about you.

So do not worry what others think you. Be happy with who you are.

As long as you do not hurt other people, or make other people feel bad, then you should be proud of yourself, and not worry what others think of you.

Don’t worry what other people think of you, be cool.

Cool people do not worry about what others think of them.
